Professional Services Team

Bestgate's services team is comprised of talented engineers with proven experience in their fields.

Our staff are skilled in both compiled and interpreted languages at various levels, from kernal module modifications to presentation layer interfaces. We are experienced in multiple software development lifecycle methodologies, and versed in many of our customers' internal engineering processes. Our staff is competent in configuring, deploying and managing multiple software development support tools and technologies, such as build management, software configuration management, continuous integration, static analysis, and profiling.

Christopher Swartz

Chris is a software engineer, having developed low-level protocol processing and transactional systems, Wi-Fi geolocation algorithms, and distributed systems. He has acted in software development and leadership roles, from staff engineer to software engineering lead for ACAT-1 programs. He holds a BS in Computer Science from UMBC, an MS in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, and is pursuing his Ph.D in Computer Science from UMBC, with a focus on wireless technologies. Chris is a Certified ScrumMaster.

Keith Wegner

Keith is a software engineer, with experience developing enterprise PKI & key management services, system modernization, and. He has held positions as a developer, software architect, and task lead. Keith has completed a BS from Towson University, an MS in Information Systems from UMBC, and is pursuing a Professional Certificate in Computer Security at Stanford University. He is a CISSP, ScrumMaster, and holds certifications in Java and cloud technologies.

George Bachman

George brings over 20 years of software development experience, ranging from real-time embedded systems, algorithm development, manufacturing control systems, and records processing for the Defense community as well as various private sector industries. He has acted as a software engineer, consultant, and small business owner throughout his career. George completed his BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. George is a member of IEEE, ACM, and holds one patent with multiple patents pending.
